Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 August 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Hanif Atmar, who arrived on a working visit to Tashkent.

The meeting discussed the state and prospects for the development of interstate cooperation in the political, trade and economic, energy, transport and communication and other areas.

Special attention was paid to the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached in the framework of bilateral contacts at the highest level.

Afghan Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar expressed deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for Uzbekistan’s strong support and active assistance in achieving peace, social and economic recovery in Afghanistan.

The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of multifaceted cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Other issues of the Uzbek-Afghan agenda were also considered at the talks.
