Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of Uzatom and the French nuclear technology company Framatome held a working meeting on March 9 at the company’s headquarters to discuss cooperation in the development of nuclear energy.

The talks involved Uzatom Director Azim Akhmedkhadjaev and Senior Executive Vice President of the Instrumentation and Control business unit at Framatome, Laurent Thieffry.

During the meeting, the sides discussed key areas of cooperation, focusing on the implementation of advanced automated process control systems for nuclear power plants. The discussions also covered the exchange of best practices, technology transfer and joint efforts to enhance the reliability and safety of nuclear facilities.

Particular attention was given to the strategic partnership between Uzatom and Framatome within projects aimed at the construction and operation of nuclear power units in Uzbekistan under an integrated framework. The parties confirmed their interest in deepening cooperation across all stages of the life cycle of future power units.

Framatome is considered one of the global leaders in the nuclear industry, specializing in the design and manufacturing of equipment, nuclear fuel supply and control systems for nuclear power plants. The company provides a full range of services throughout the entire lifecycle of reactor installations, ensuring high standards of safety, operational efficiency and competitiveness in nuclear energy projects.

Framatome has previously implemented projects together with Rosatom, including the supply of automated control systems and equipment for the construction of the Paks II Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary and the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant in Egypt. These projects demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness of the company’s technologies in complex international environments.

The meeting highlighted the intention of Uzatom and Framatome to strengthen cooperation and introduce advanced technological solutions in Uzbekistan’s nuclear energy sector.
