Uzatom and Assystem to Establish Joint Venture in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Agency for the Development of Nuclear Energy under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“Uzatom”) and the French engineering company Assystem have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint venture in Tashkent.
The document was signed during an official meeting between Azim Akhmedkhadjaev, Director General of Uzatom, and Christian Jeannot, Senior Vice President for International Projects at Assystem. The two sides discussed prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation and a strategic partnership aimed at advancing nuclear energy development and introducing cutting-edge technological solutions in Uzbekistan.
The planned joint venture will provide technical support for the construction of a nuclear power plant, offer expert guidance in selecting engineering solutions, ensure their integration into the overall project design, and support initiatives aimed at developing Uzbekistan’s civil nuclear program.
