USCENTCOM-Counternarcotics installs CCTV system at Ayritom Customs Post
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
A new Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system was installed for the Uzbekistan State Customs Committee at the Ayritom Customs Post on the border with Afghanistan.
According to the US Embassy in Tashkent, the CCTV system is a significant upgrade over the old system and enhances the overall security posture at the facility. Funded by USCENTCOM-CN, all installation work was completed by an Uzbek company.
The installation is the latest effort by the US government to assist Uzbek Customs in improving this important border crossing location. In 2013, USCENTCOM-CN installed a Rapiscan R-60 Rail Scanner to screen incoming railway traffic, the US Embassy added.
