US Under Secretary Shannon to visit Uzbekistan

The press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said that the US diplomat is arriving in Uzbekistan to hold bilateral negotiations.

During the visit, Thomas Shennon will be received by the leadership of the country, as well as hold a series of other meetings.

Earlier, the US State Department said that within his visit, Shannon will visit Tashkent and Samarkand. He will meet with senior government officials, business and civil society leaders.

He will also visit several cultural heritage sites, including the Registan and the burial site of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
