US to complete transfer of armored vehicles to Uzbekistan

The US Army plans to complete the transfer to Uzbekistan of armored vehicles, namely mine resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicles, a US defense ministry official has told TASS.
The Central Asian nation started receiving this military equipment in December last year, the source said.
The armored vehicles are given to Uzbekistan free of charge. The Pentagon official gave no details on the exact date for accomplishing the supplies.
According to reports of the US media, Washington will hand over 308 MRAP vehicles, the cost of which varies from US$535,000 to US$1.29 million per vehicle, as well as 20 armored repair-evacuation machines.
Only the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan will be able to use these vehicles, the report said.
