US General Michael Garrett visits Uzbekistan

General Michael Garrett arrived in Uzbekistan with a team of advisors and support staff, the US Embassy in Uzbekistan said.

The US diplomatic mission said that his visit is evidence of continued high-level engagement with the Government of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Defense as a part of the broad range of security cooperation.

During his visit, General Garrett’s team met with representatives from the Uzbek Ministry of Defense and participated in a briefing at the Armed Forces Academy.

“Security cooperation is one way in which the United States shows its continued support of Uzbekistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. After productive meetings and enjoying his first visit to Uzbekistan, General Garrett departed on 15 December,” the statement of the US Embassy said.
