US Deports 72 Uzbek Citizens on Latest Flight
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 March 2026, a deportation flight from the United States arrived in Uzbekistan carrying 72 individuals without legal status in the US, including 65 Uzbek citizens, the US Embassy in Tashkent reported.
According to the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the flight is part of a broader series of measures implemented by the United States to ensure border security. Since President Donald Trump took office, more than 1,000 Uzbek nationals have been deported from the US.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that individuals entering the US illegally face both imprisonment and deportation. “The United States expresses deep gratitude to the government of Uzbekistan for close cooperation in supporting US deportation operations,” the embassy statement said.
Earlier in January 2026, a repatriation flight returned 44 Uzbek citizens from the US, many of whom had been held in migration centers after crossing the US-Mexico border. That marked the 11th deportation flight since Trump’s administration began, with nearly 700 citizens repatriated in total.
As with previous flights, the latest deportation was carried out by the American charter airline Omni Air International, with the plane landing in Tashkent in the afternoon.
