US-based Aviagen to Establish US$40 Million Poultry Cluster in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Aviagen Broiler Breeding Group, a leading American operator in poultry breed selection, will establish a new poultry cluster in Uzbekistan with an investment of US$40 million.
The agreement was signed on 18 February during a meeting between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and representatives of American businesses.
Aviagen CEO Jan Henriksen stated that the enterprise will focus on breeding stock for the country’s poultry industry. The cluster’s production capacity is projected at 4.5 million chickens per year. An 88-hectare plot of land for the project was allocated in June 2025.
Henriksen noted that coordinating organizational matters with the Ministries of Energy and Construction, as well as with regional hokims, took only 24 hours. Ministers and regional leaders joined the discussions via videoconference.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Akram Aliev and Jan Henriksen.
The project aims to develop pedigree poultry breeding in Uzbekistan and enhance the industry’s production capacity using advanced international breeding technologies.
