Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 June, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., the Kushkupir District of Khorezm Region experienced an intense hailstorm — a rare natural occurrence for early summer.

Footage capturing the event quickly spread across social media. Later that evening, the Uzbek Hydrometeorological Service (Uzhydromet) confirmed the information.

According to the Kushkupir meteorological station, 6.8 millimeters of precipitation fell during the storm.

During the same period, rainfall was also recorded in other districts of Khorezm Region — including Khiva, Urgench, Yangiarik, and Bagat.

At approximately 4:20 p.m., a heavy downpour began in the village of Usmat in Jizzakh Region’s Bakhmal District. Just twenty minutes later, around 4:40 p.m., precipitation was also observed in the village of Pishogar in the Zamin District.

In some areas of Zamin District, intense rainfall led to the formation of mudflows.

According to available reports, there were no casualties or injuries.
