Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 January, the government of Uzbekistan signed a Resolution "On attracting the private sector to state-owned enterprises in the field of road transport"

According to the adopted document, unprofitable state enterprises in the field of road transport can be sold to the private sector through public auctions. The sale will be handled by the Ministry of Transport. The main condition for the sale is the assumption by the buyer of investment and social obligations.

To date, a list of such unprofitable state-owned enterprises has already been approved, which will be exhibited at the Electronic Auction trading platform.

Both investment and social obligations have been approved. This:

- to carry out activities in the field of public transport for at least 5 years, primarily in the territories connecting the countryside with district and regional centers;

- introduction of modern information and communication technologies (GPS devices, electronic payment systems) during the year.

The State Assets Management Agency assumes the function of concluding formal agreements with investors and monitoring the implementation of their investment and social obligations.
