Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An unjustifiably sharp rise in prices for sugar products is observed in Uzbekistan. This is stated in the message of the Antimonopoly Committee.
The suspension of sugar exports by Russia and Ukraine will not affect Uzbekistan in any way, the committee said in a statement. The share of these countries in the market of Uzbekistan is only 2%.
The Committee notes that local sugar producers buy raw materials in Brazil at low prices compared to quotations on the stock exchange.
The Antimonopoly Committee notes that for the uninterrupted supply of the domestic market with sugar products, it increases the volume of exchange trading by an average of 30% daily.
The government is also taking the necessary measures to provide the population with sugar products in sufficient quantities and at affordable prices.
Instructions were given to sell sugar at the best prices in the markets of all regions in the stalls of Elga Khizmat.
The Antimonopoly Committee urged entrepreneurs not to overprice sugar and not create inconvenience to consumers. The Committee warned that appropriate measures would be taken in accordance with the procedure established by law against entrepreneurs who unreasonably inflate prices.
