Universities in Uzbekistan proposed to develop their own brands and visual identities
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Uzbekistan, each higher education institution may be granted the right to create its own corporate identity and produce branded merchandise.
The corresponding draft law has been submitted by the Ministry of Higher Education and is currently open for public discussion.
According to the draft, by 1 August, relevant agencies are expected to develop and approve unique image and branding concepts for each university.
This process will take into account the historical heritage, social mission, and contemporary challenges faced by each institution. The initiative envisions creating a complete visual identity—from logos and stationery to souvenirs and clothing, including both sportswear and casual apparel.
The document also proposes using university brands to promote modern educational formats and social initiatives, fostering partnerships with manufacturers that reflect the universities’ identities, and establishing retail outlets on campus grounds.
Special emphasis is placed on popularizing the achievements of universities, with plans to produce media content such as films and features about distinguished alumni, faculty members, and significant moments in the history of these institutions.
The public consultation on the draft law will continue until 29 May.
