Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will develop a law requiring public officials to declare their assets and income. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of the country, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The document provides for the establishment of procedures for filling out and verifying declarations, as well as the alignment of criteria for the legalization of criminal proceeds with international standards. By the end of June, the list of corruption-related offenses is expected to be revised, and accountability for such crimes will be strengthened.

Additionally, a unified registry of public officials will be created in the country. The registry aims to improve transparency in the hiring process and simplify the assessment of candidates’ knowledge, experience, and qualifications, including through the use of digital solutions.

The president also instructed authorities to enhance tax oversight at the mahalla level and within individual enterprises. These measures are intended to curb the shadow economy and improve the responsiveness of tax administration.
