Unemployment level in Uzbekistan makes up 5.1%

Realization of active measures on labour market helped to balance its main figures, thus demand and offer of labour, the ministry said.

In the result of creation of jobs, the growth of employment, income and prosperity of population allowd to improve economic activity and employment of population. In the result, the stability of labour market indicators is observed.

In nine months of 2015, number of labour resources was 18.2 million and economically active population – 13.7 million, including employed – 13.1 million people and unemployed – 698,300 people.

Number of economically inactive population, who do not demand jobs, makes up almost 4.5 million or 25.3% of labour resources. The average unemployment in Uzbekistan in the reporting period was 5.1%.

As reported earlier, Uzbekistan created 748,700 jobs in January-September 2015.
