Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UNDP and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD, French Development Agency) have signed a partnership agreement to jointly support the government of Uzbekistan in implementing a green budget approach.
This work will be carried out as part of the UNDP program with the government of Uzbekistan to introduce a budget consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals.
AFD has been active in Uzbekistan since 2015 and has been supporting the country in diversifying its economy and moving towards inclusive and sustainable development. In partnership with the Uzbek authorities, in particular, the agency is implementing projects to improve the quality of life in cities (waste management, water supply and sanitation), livestock development and sustainable energy production (hydropower, development of electricity for a low-carbon economy).
