UN Under-Secretary-General to attend SCO summit

The SCO summit will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on 23-24 June.

Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are members of the SCO. India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Mongolia and Belarus are observers, while Turkey, Sri-Lanka, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia and Nepal are SCO dialogue parners.

India and Pakistan started a process to become full-fledged member of the SCO at the previous SCO summit in Ufa, Russia.

Upcoming SCO summit has special importance as in previous presidency of Uzbekistan in the organization in 2010, the secretariats of the UN and the SCO signed a joint declaration of cooperation.
