“UN Secretary-General congratulates Shavkat Mirziyoev, who has been elected President of Uzbekistan, according to preliminary results announced today by the Central election Commission”, – Stefan Dujarric said.

He said that Ban Ki-moon noted “the orderly conduct of the presidential elections in Uzbekistan”.

Dujarric said that the UN Secretary-General urged “all political forces to work together to ensure stable development of the country”.

He also assured the people of the country in the support of the world organization and its staff in Uzbekistan.
