UN Secretary-General arrives in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon arrived in Uzbekistan on 11 June with an official visit.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev welcomed the UN chief at Tashkent International Airport. The main events of the visit will take place on 12 June.
Within the visit, Ban Ki-moon will hold negotiations with the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. The sides will consider current state and perspectives of development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN agencies, as well as actual regional and international issues.
Ban Ki-moon will also visit Bukhara within his visit to Uzbekistan, where he will familiarize with historic and architecture monuments of the city.
