Umid Shadiev presents his credentials to the Director-General of UNESCO

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO Umid Shadiev presented his credentials to the organization’s general director Audrey Azoulay. This was reported by the Delegation of Uzbekistan to UNESCO.

During the meeting, it was noted that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to cooperation with UNESCO, including in the sphere of preservation and development of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the republic.

The Head of UNESCO highly appreciated the policy on development of traditional and cultural values of the Uzbek people, as well as the results of the International Forum of Makom Art in Shakhrisabz. She stressed that the culture of Uzbekistan is an important part of the world heritage.
