UAE Confirms Support for Uzbekistan’s WTO Accession in 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Azizbek Urunov, Uzbekistan’s Presidential Representative for the World Trade Organization and chief negotiator, held a productive meeting with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi.

The discussions focused on current global trade trends, WTO activities, and ongoing organizational reforms. Dr. Al Zeyoudi reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the multilateral trading system and confirmed her country’s readiness to assist Uzbekistan in joining the WTO next year.

Azizbek Urunov noted that successful accession would open new opportunities for developing trade and economic partnerships between Uzbekistan and the UAE and would provide an impetus for broader regional cooperation.

The talks underscored the strategic importance of strengthening bilateral relations and engagement within the global economic framework.
