Two universities established in the field of architecture and construction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution "On measures to further improve the system of training personnel in the field of architecture and construction" was adopted.

According to the Resolution:

The Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering was reorganized into the Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering with specialization in the areas of "engineering", "architecture", "construction" and "technology of building materials".

Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering named after Mirzo Ulugbek was reorganized into Samarkand State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering named after Mirzo Ulugbek with specialization in the areas of "restoration of cultural heritage objects", "design", "architecture", "construction", "urbanization" and "engineering".

The educational process at Universities is carried out on the basis of a credit-module system in the state, English and other foreign languages, a Higher Scientific School is being created, focused on the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel.

From 1 January  2023, the universities are granted academic, organizational and financial independence.

The position of the First Vice-Rector for Strategic Development will be introduced in the structure of the universities.

Until 1 March 2023, the areas of study for undergraduate and graduate specialties will be optimized in accordance with international educational and professional classifiers.

A Technopark will be created at the Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and an Incubation Center will be created at the Samarkand State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
