Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Two locomotives collided in Tashkent region. As a result of the incident, 20 cars derailed and overturned. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.

The department notes that the incident occurred on 19 December at 05:03. The locomotive of the Angren coal mine of Uzbekkomir OJSC started moving due to the lack of compressed air and crashed into diesel locomotive # 017.

As a result, out of 33 freight cars, 20 cars (14 freight cars with coal from locomotive # 010 and 6 empty freight cars from locomotive # 017) derailed and overturned.

The driver of diesel locomotive # 010 and his assistant received minor injuries. They were hospitalized and received medical attention. 

Works started to eliminate the consequences of the incident. Investigations are underway.
