TV channel "Russia 1": Uzbekistan is the locomotive of Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A video about the reforms taking place in Uzbekistan was broadcast on the Vesti Nedeli program of the Russia 1 TV channel. The 7-minute video was prepared by the channel's correspondents for 5 days. The plot includes dozens of locations and objects that clearly demonstrate the global changes taking place in the republic in recent years.

The reportage is timed to the celebration of one of the most beautiful holidays - Navruz. The plot reflects the colorful traditions and rituals associated with this holiday - national songs, dances, cooking sumalak.

As the author of the story, correspondent Olga Armyakova noted, "opening its doors to guests on holidays, Uzbekistan opens both in the economy and in politics"

“According to the World Bank, this year's GDP growth in the country will be a record - almost 4%. Uzbekistan is the locomotive of Central Asia,” the correspondent says.

The plot also includes footage and a story about the new international capital - Samarqand City, which is under construction, which next year will become the city of a major political event - the SCO summit.

The report says about the high rates of construction in Uzbekistan, comparable to the heyday of the empire of Amir Timur, “who, after the devastating invasion of Genghis Khan, was able to turn the ruins into eastern Rome,” says Armyakova. The journalist calls Samarkand the tourist capital of the republic and the main symbol of the cultural renaissance.

Talking about the present and the future, the journalist speaks with special trepidation about the great past of Uzbekistan - its richest cultural heritage, about artisans who sacredly observe the centuries-old traditions of their ancestors, creating products from Damascus steel, hand-made carpets and other objects of art.

In addition, the plot focuses on large industrial facilities, for example, the Kandym gas processing complex - a joint project of Uzbekistan and Russia, an industrial oasis of the Kyzyl Kum sands environment.

“Hundreds of kilometers of pipelines, 8 billion cubic meters of gas per year - this is one of the largest plants in Central Asia. New fields are being developed as well,” says Olga Armyakova.

It should be noted that stories about Uzbekistan were shown on other Russian TV channels. Among them - "Mir" and "Russia 24".
