Turnover of UZSE reaches 61.6bn soums in Jan-May

The exchange said that some 462 deals with 62.4 million securities of 77 joint stock companies were registered in January-May 2012.

Share of the IPO market made up 70.9% in total turnover in January-May 2012 or 43.7 billion soums, the UZSE said. It added that the volume of deals in IPO market rose almost four times compared to the same period of 2011 (11.4 billion soums).

The secondary market of UZSE accounted deals for 17.9 billion soums, which makes up 29.1% of total turnover of UZSE in the first five months of 2012.

Securities of financial institutions mainly attracted interest of investors. About 86.7% of deals or 53.4 billion soums were conducted with stocks of financial organizations. At the same time, 80% of turnover or 46.6 billion soums fell to share of banks, 2.1% or 1.3 billion soums – to insurance companies and 4.6% or 2.8 billion soums – to leasing firms.

Share of industry in total turnover was 3.4% or 2.1 billion soums, agro-industrial complex – 2.2% or 1.4 billion soums and construction industry enterprises – 1.6% or 1 billion soums.
