Turnover of UZEX makes up 155.5bn soums last week

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Trade turnover of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) made up 155.5 billion soums on 8-14 April 2013, which grew by 33.6% year-on-year.

Exchange trades

Turnover of exchange trades of the UZEX grew by 39.3% in the reporting period to 138.1 billion soums. The growth was recorded in all segments of exchange market. The growth of sales by 14 times helped foodstuff segment to increase its share in total trade volume from 4% to 30%.

The volume of export deals fell up to US$2.2 million, which is connected with decrease of sales of nomenclature of products. On 8-14 April, the export platform sold liquefied gas, cement and cathode copper.

Exhibition-fair trade

UZEX’s exchange-fair trade recorded slow fall in trade turnover. Internal exhibition-fair trades rose from 8.9 billion soums in previous week to 9.8 billion soums on 8-14 April. Number of signed deals rose by 59% to 895.

Tashkent branch of UZEX leads on the volume of sales with the volume of 2.8 billion soums. Namangan region with the volume of 582.8 million soums followed Tashkent branch. Largest deal was also recorded at Tashkent branch. Its sum made up 513 million soums.

The sum of deals on sales of machinery products made up 3.7 billion soums. Non-ferrous and ferrous metal followed machinery segment as its share in total turnover made up 30.2%.

Public procurement

Auction trades on public procurement recorded growth. Turnover on public procurement made up 7.7 billion soums last week, which is 904.4 million soums compared to previous year. UZEX said that number of the budget organizations and vendors grew by 24%. The sum of saved budget resources made up 1.6 billion soums.

Largest deal was recorded in Yunusabad district of Tashkent. Local small business won a bid to supply notebooks on psychological-pedagogic diagnosis for 112.3 million soums.
