Turnover of Major Retail Chains in Uzbekistan Exceeds 7.1 Trillion Soums in Five Months
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first five months of 2025, the combined turnover of major retail chains in Uzbekistan surpassed 7.1 trillion soums, according to the State Tax Committee.
These figures were made possible by the integration of digital tools into tax administration, including online cash registers, electronic invoices, and other modern technologies. These instruments enable real-time monitoring of key indicators in the consumer market.
According to data collected from fiscal receipts and tax reports from the country’s seven largest retailers, over 12,500 product names were sold during the reporting period. The average receipt per purchase was approximately 77,800 soums.
A substantial number of transactions were registered through the “Soliq” mobile app, generating cashback payments totaling 38.7 billion soums. The total number of customers who made purchases in major retail chains from January to May reached 1.9 million. Notably, nearly 25,000 consumers made purchases more than twice per day, indicating strong customer loyalty and sustained demand.
Currently, the largest retail chains in Uzbekistan employ around 22,700 people. The total wage fund for the period amounted to 655.3 billion soums, nearly half of which — 311.3 billion soums — was paid to employees under the age of 30. The average salary in the retail sector was around 5.8 million soums.
Korzinka led in terms of taxes paid, with contributions totaling 140.45 billion soums, followed by Makro with 17.73 billion soums and Havas with 17.35 billion soums.
