Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Turkmenistan has inaugurated the newly reconstructed "Farap Auto Roads" customs post located on the border with Uzbekistan.  

According to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the reconstruction was part of the country's Customs Development Program for 2022-2028, aimed at improving transit corridors and modernizing border infrastructure.  

The area of the customs facility was expanded from 5.2 to 10 hectares, and new inspection pits now allow for simultaneous checks of 16 vehicles.  

As a result, the post's capacity has increased from 250 to 500 vehicles in each direction, enabling the processing of up to 1,000 vehicles per day.  

Additionally, the reconstruction includes plans to expand the use of digital technologies in customs operations.
