Turdikulova: “Efforts have been made to create a favorable and optimal ecosystem for the development of innovative business models

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Ministry of Innovative Development, within the framework of the International Week of Innovative Ideas "InnoWeek-2021", is hosting an international conference on "Artificial Intelligence - the Basis of Technological Development".

Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Sh. Turdikulova said: "Efforts have been made to create a favorable and optimal ecosystem for the development of innovative business models, products and services based on artificial intelligence technologies, their rapid implementation and use in certain priority sectors and industries."

Including:

1. Within the framework of the Joint Alliance for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, the total cost of which is 30.039 billion soums, a total of 16 practical, innovative, fundamental and international projects are being implemented, planned for 2021-2024.

2. The Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi and the Scientific Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence have opened the direction of postgraduate education in the specialty - 05.01.11 - Digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

A total of 33 target quotas have been allocated for fundamental doctoral research and internships in artificial intelligence. Of these, 19 basic doctoral programs and 14 internships in the specialty "05.01.11-Digital technologies and artificial intelligence".

3. In the second season of the Urban.Tech Uzbekistan hackathon competition, which will be held in 2022, it is planned to implement projects on the use of artificial intelligence to solve the problem of routes.

4. Based on the foreign experience of the State Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index, a program of measures to improve the government's position in the Artificial Intelligence Index has been developed and submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers.

In 2019, the Republic of Uzbekistan took 158th place (1.412 points) in the Index of Government Readiness for Artificial Intelligence, while in 2020 it took 95th place (37,171 points), having improved its position by 63 positions at once.

5. 10 young scientists, selected in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, in 2021-2022 will be sent for short-term research internships in leading foreign scientific organizations.

6. Introduced 5 information systems (grant.mininnovation.uz, phd.mininnovation.uz, ias.gov.uz, uzmip.uz, portal.spcenter.uz) for digital transformation of innovation, digitalization of innovation.
