Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the invitation of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, a delegation of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies visited Uzbekistan from 1 to 4 March 2021. As part of the visit, on 3 March 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies.
E. Mukhitdinov, First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, noted that this ministry has an ambitious task to train at least 70 thousand young people in the professions in demand in the labor market this year.
And this project of the TUMO Center will solve the key task of training 1200 young specialists in the field of creative technologies at the age from 12 to 18 years. The training will be free of charge, moreover, a scholarship will be provided for the period of study in these courses. In addition, the Deputy Minister said that negotiations are now underway with national partners to expand the audience of students at the TUMO Center - in order to involve schoolchildren and youth aged 18 and over.
Director of Franchises at the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies in Yerevan S. Hescock noted that the next TUMO Center, in addition to Yerevan, Beirut, Paris, Berlin, Tirana and Moscow, will be Tashkent. This will be the first TUMO Center in Central Asia.
The TUMO Center is an innovative educational platform that prepares young people for practical activities in the field of creative technologies. Specialized courses, lectures and events provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in daily life. The main goal of the Center is to identify and develop the creative potential of young people in the field of IT.
The center was founded in 2011 in Yerevan, Armenia. Youth training is carried out in 14 areas that are in demand in the modern global labor market, such as: graphic design, 3D modeling, programming, robotics, web development, film production, etc.
In 2016, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies topped the list of innovative schools in the world compiled by French magazine We demain, beating AltSchool in Silicon Valley, Kindergarten in Tokyo and Steve Jobs School in the Netherlands.
The Center is the recipient of the Implementation of the Digital Century award, which was presented at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) Forum in February 2018 in Hyderabad, India.
TUMO received the 2019 Europa Nostra Award for education, training and the digitization of cultural heritage. The prize is awarded to organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to nature conservation, scientific research and other fields.
