Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 March, a major traffic accident involving a truck, a minibus, and a Lacetti occurred in Jizzakh region, according to the regional traffic police department.

The crash took place on the A376 international highway (Kokand – Jizzakh) in the Nurlioobod mahalla. Preliminary reports indicate that the truck collided with a Lacetti that was making a U-turn, then veered into the opposite lane, crashing into a minibus before skidding off the road.

One passenger died at the scene, while 15 others were rushed to the hospital. Two more people later succumbed to their injuries.

Several of the injured remain in intensive care, while others are being treated in trauma, neurosurgery, and urology departments. Their condition is reported as critically stable.

Following the accident, traffic police officers conducted a preventive briefing with 120 drivers from the company that owned the truck. An investigation into the crash is currently underway.
