TrinaTracker Secures 363 MW Solar Tracker Supply Contract for Uzbekistan Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — TrinaTracker, a business unit of Trina Solar and a leading global provider of intelligent solar tracker solutions, has signed a contract to supply 363 MW of solar tracking systems for a photovoltaic plant in Navoi Region, Uzbekistan.
This major order marks another milestone for the company in Central Asia, demonstrating its technological leadership, product reliability, and high project execution standards. With this new contract, TrinaTracker’s total installed capacity in Uzbekistan exceeds 1 GW.
The Navoi project is financed by China Energy Engineering Overseas Investment Company and involves the installation of 7,267 Vanguard 1P single-axis trackers from TrinaTracker.
The project faces significant engineering challenges due to the region’s extreme climate and geological conditions. Summer temperatures can reach 48°C, winds up to 52.3 m/s, and the ground consists of a hard gravel layer with particles up to 200 mm, making construction particularly demanding.
Leveraging its technical expertise and project experience, TrinaTracker developed a customized solution to ensure the long-term reliability of the system. Vanguard 1P trackers, tested for structural integrity and aerodynamics, demonstrate high resilience to strong winds and extreme temperatures, ensuring stable operation over a 25-year service life.
The project supports Uzbekistan’s national strategy to increase renewable energy share to 25% by 2030, contributing to the country’s energy transition and sustainable development. Once operational, the plant will generate approximately 700 million kWh of clean electricity annually, reduce coal consumption by 220,000 tons, and cut CO₂ emissions by 600,000 tons per year.
TrinaTracker President Alvaro Garcia Maltras said: "We are pleased to continue contributing to Uzbekistan’s green energy development. Signing the Navoi project contract reflects the market’s trust in our brand and capabilities. We remain committed to delivering high-quality projects and ensuring their reliable long-term operation, supporting a more sustainable future."
