Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 October 2025, at 23:14:49 local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6 occurred in Badakhshan region of Afghanistan.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 225 kilometers, with coordinates 36.48°N latitude and 71.09°E longitude. The intensity at the epicenter reached 3 on the seismic scale.

Tremors were also felt across Uzbekistan. In the Surkhandarya region, the strength of the tremors reached 3 points (at a distance of 349 km from the epicenter).

In the Ferghana, Syrdarya, Andijan, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Namangan, and Kashkadarya regions, the earthquake was felt at an intensity of 2–3 points. In Tashkent, the tremors registered around 2 points.

The distance from the earthquake’s epicenter to Uzbekistan’s capital was approximately 556 kilometers to the southeast.
