Training Center for Medical Personnel to be created in Uzbekistan
This new 5-year project (2016-2020), with a budget of US$7 million, aims to establish and utilize an Innovation Center for medicine for Uzbekistan’s higher quality of education in pediatrics, strengthen the capacity of advanced surgical skills, education, and research of pediatric healthcare professionals through the training of medical personnel in the Innovation Center, and decrease mortality and morbidity rates and improve medical service quality in pediatrics.
To achieve the project objectives, Korea and Uzbekistan will cooperate in formulating the Master Plan for the operation of the Innovation Center, establishing and utilizing the Innovation Center for Medicine, strengthening the capacity of advanced surgical skills of pediatric professionals (including doctors, nurses, and medical technicians) through the implementation of Master Classes in Korea and in Uzbekistan, strengthening the capacity of education development and quality improvement in the Innovation Center, and implementing the research capacity development program for medical personnel.
The Deputy Minister of Health Laziz Tuychiev thanked KOICA agency for the fruitful cooperation and expressed hope that the training center to be established through this project will one of the best training centers for medical personnel in Uzbekistan.
KOICA Uzbekistan Office Director Ms. Im Jeong Hee extended her gratitude for the active cooperation of the Uzbek side and expressed hope that this project will contribute to the improvement of the health sector in Uzbekistan and further strengthen partnership between Korea and Uzbekistan.
