Traffic Scheme Near Schools in Tashkent to Be Changed to One-Way to Reduce Accidents

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — With the start of the new academic year, roads in all inner neighborhoods of Tashkent located near schools will be converted to one-way traffic.

According to Kahramon Khudoyberganov, spokesperson for the capital’s Traffic Safety Department of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs, the measure is intended to reduce the risk of road accidents and improve the safety of schoolchildren.

Work is currently underway to install the necessary traffic signs.

The department stressed that both drivers and pedestrians should carefully follow the new rules when traveling through the city’s inner streets.
