On 20 April, there were some publications on online media and social networks on introduction of new state number plates of automobiles. The MRTS said that these reports do not correspond to the reality.

Earlier it was reported that the President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On organizational measures for the accelerated integration of departmental information systems and the implementation of innovative projects”.

According to the document, Uzbekistan is implementing a project to create a vehicle accounting system, which envisages replacement of existing numbers with international models and cancellation of paper documents for vehicles.

MRTS stated that Uzbekistan is creating the system for accounting vehicles with introduction of modern ICT systems.

The Directorate said that president’s resolutions deals only with the creation of a modern vehicle accounting system.
