Tourism Opportunities of Uzbekistan Presented in Nagoya to Japanese Audience

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A special event showcasing the tourism potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Nagoya, Japan.

The initiative was organized in collaboration with the Japanese travel company Club Tourism International Inc., with the support of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Ambassador to Japan, Keisuke Minami. Around 200 guests attended the presentation.

During the event, which involved diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan, it was emphasized that tourism development has become one of the country’s key policy priorities in recent years.

Thanks to the modernization of tourism infrastructure, consistent sector reforms, and simplified visa procedures for foreign visitors, Uzbekistan is steadily establishing its image as one of the leading tourist destinations in Central Asia.

The measures undertaken have already yielded tangible results. In 2025, nearly 12 million international tourists visited Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to the growing interest from Japan: the number of Japanese tourists visiting the country exceeded 32,000 for the first time, an increase of 162% compared to the previous year.

Participants were provided with detailed information about Uzbekistan’s cultural and historical heritage, UNESCO World Heritage sites, regional tourism potential, national traditions, cuisine, and popular routes of particular interest to Japanese travelers.

Guests were invited to consider Uzbekistan as a promising destination for future trips.

Kenji Yoshizaki, head of the Nagoya branch of Club Tourism International Inc., noted the steady growth of Japanese tourist interest in Uzbekistan and announced plans to develop new travel products. In particular, a special tour titled “Journey to Uzbekistan with Tourism Ambassador Keisuke Minami” is planned.

Uzbekistan’s Tourism Ambassador to Japan and well-known actor, Keisuke Minami, shared his personal impressions from a visit to Uzbekistan in August 2025, highlighting the country’s rich historical heritage, regional diversity, and extensive tourism opportunities.

Additionally, an information stand about Uzbekistan was set up at the event, where visitors could explore tourist maps and brochures prepared in Japanese.
