Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to discuss the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, a meeting was held with the deputy of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, former Minister of State for Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Hideki Makihara.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects for further intensification of bilateral cooperation were substantively discussed, a powerful impetus to which was given by the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019.
The sides noted with satisfaction the projects being implemented in Uzbekistan in the energy sector with the participation of Japanese companies, and expressed readiness to further support the efforts of the parties to implement mutually beneficial investment projects in Uzbekistan.
H. The interlocutor agreed with the opinion on the need to further intensify the project activities of the Fund, including through the implementation of social projects in the region with the involvement of grant funds from the Japanese side.
