Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 December 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adel Mirdad via videoconference.

During the conversation, the state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres were considered.

The parties exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming joint events at various levels.

It was noted that the Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted relations in recent years have risen to a qualitatively new level of development and have acquired an intensive character.

The importance of taking additional measures to prevent the negative impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on bilateral trade and economic relations and the progressive increase in the volume of mutual trade was emphasized.

Special attention is paid to the issues of joint implementation of investment projects in the fields of energy, renewable energy, agriculture, tourism and pharmaceuticals.

Topical aspects of further development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries were discussed.

During the talks, other issues of mutual interest were considered.
