Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November 2021, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with the regional director of the UNICEF office for Europe and Central Asia Afshan Khan.

During the meeting, Afshan Khan highly appreciated the large-scale effective reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to protect children’s rights, develop the education sector and other areas.

Issues of bilateral cooperation in education, protection of children’s rights, eradication of child labor, improvement of their physical, intellectual and spiritual education, as well as protection and improvement of the health of mothers and children were discussed.

The efforts of the Government of the country to support children and create opportunities for them to get an education, profession and housing, as well as their employment were noted.

They also exchanged views on certain areas of deepening bilateral cooperation.
