Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March, after the first case of coronavirus infection was registered in Uzbekistan, the educational process in the traditional format was suspended, and the children began to study at home online.

Today, 6 months later, on 7 September 329 schools opened their doors to students.

Until 5 September, the Centers for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being studied the state of school readiness for the new academic year and conducted additional trainings for school staff, which continue to this day.

The decision to resume the activity of schools is made by local Kengashes of People’s Deputies on the basis of the conclusion of the Centers for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

The new 2020/2021 academic year will officially begin on 14 September 2020.

According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Public Education, 76% of 5.5 million parents voted to continue the educational process in the traditional way, and 24% preferred to continue it remotely - through television lessons.
