Timur Ishmetov may become head of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Timur Ishmetov may be appointed as the Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has submitted his candidacy to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. Currently, Timur Ishmetov holds the position of First Deputy Advisor to the President on issues of economic sector development, investment, and foreign trade policy.
Earlier, based on the President's proposal, the Senate Council made a decision to release Mamariyo Nurmuratov from the position of Chairman of the Central Bank, a role he had held since 2017.
