Tigrus Holding Enters Uzbekistan’s Restaurant Market
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — International holding company Tigrus has expanded its presence in Uzbekistan by launching two new co-branded restaurant projects in Tashkent: the Italian Osteria Mario and the Georgian Shvili.
The new establishments are located in the historic center of the capital, close to major landmarks, in a standalone building called “New Chimes,” featuring a garden and rooftop terrace.
The total area of the restaurants is 1,450 m², including a veranda and banquet hall. Both projects will operate under the management of Tigrus Holding, which intends to maintain a unified standard of quality and service.
Representatives of Tigrus note that family-oriented formats, large gatherings, traditional meat, vegetable, and dough-based dishes, aromatic spices, and a warm atmosphere are particularly appreciated in Uzbekistan. For this reason, Italian and Georgian cuisine fits organically with local gastronomic preferences. A key focus for the holding is catering to families and children, with a dedicated kids’ menu and a play area made from environmentally safe materials.
The menus at Osteria Mario and Shvili include classic Italian and Georgian dishes, as well as signature creations from brand chefs Alexander Morin and Lika Mardaleishvili.
The restaurant concept is adapted to local preferences, excluding pork, expanding the range of meat and vegetable dishes, offering freshly baked homemade bread, and featuring a separate dessert display in line with the local tradition of leisurely tea-drinking.
Environmental initiatives are also a priority for Tigrus: the restaurants offset their carbon footprint, participate in ecosystem preservation, plant trees, and implement eco-friendly practices at each location.
“We see a clear opportunity in Uzbekistan for casual dining projects that combine affordable prices with high service and quality standards, especially in Italian and Georgian cuisine. One restaurant is just the beginning—we are already considering new locations in Tashkent and other cities,” said Henrik Winter, President of Tigrus Holding.
