Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Dilshod Akhatov met with the mayor of Agra, Navin Kumar Jain. The parties discussed the ongoing work on the development of partnership between the two ancient cities of Uzbekistan and India.
During the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India on 1 October 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Samarkand City Administration of the Samarkand Region and the Agra Municipal Corporation of Uttar Pradesh State.
During the meeting, the work done within the framework of this Memorandum was discussed, as well as the possibilities of further enhancing cooperation were studied.
The issues of organizing joint events in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, developing and protecting various areas of handicraft, establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs were discussed.
An agreement was reached on the organization of visits by business delegations.
In connection with the huge tourism potential of Samarkand and Agra, the importance of establishing direct cooperation between travel companies of the two cities was especially noted.
