Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Participants of the XV Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States stated the need to strengthen humanitarian cooperation and preserve spiritual ties between the peoples of the Commonwealth. This was stated in the resolution adopted on Tuesday following the results of two days of the forum in the capital of Uzbekistan.

“The forum participants spoke in favor of further strengthening the multilateral humanitarian cooperation of the Commonwealth countries, developing a common cultural, educational and information space, maintaining centuries-old spiritual ties and searching for new effective forms of cooperation,” the document says.

Based on the results of the discussion of the experience of 30 years of development of humanitarian cooperation in the CIS space, as well as interaction in the context of a pandemic and new global challenges, the forum participants noted the need to promote the expansion of cooperation between cultural, scientific and educational organizations, public associations for "comprehensive study and popularization of languages, cultures, history, cultural heritage and national traditions of the Commonwealth countries”. 

They supported the idea of establishing the International Creative Association of Film Studios of the Commonwealth countries, and also spoke in favor of initiatives in the field of joint film production, film distribution and distribution, creation of joint high-quality content, promotion of films from the CIS countries at festivals and international film forums. The resolution also indicated the need to develop and initiate new projects aimed at the formation of international creative teams in the field of theater, television, art and other types of creativity.

In the field of science and education, the forum participants called for “supporting the joint search for effective ways to provide affordable and high-quality education at all its levels, updating the content of education, introducing innovative information technologies, creating a modern educational environment, increasing the professional competence of teaching staff and mutual recognition of qualifications, development an inclusive approach in education, as well as the development of a system of educational work to form a creative and socially responsible personality”. 

The need was noted to expand double degree programs, organize joint preparatory courses, grant programs, mutual opening of branches of educational organizations of the Commonwealth countries, promote free access to educational platforms and applications related to the development of "electronic education" and the development of a system of grant support for scientific and applied developments of young scientists.

At the forum, they agreed to promote and popularize the national literature of the CIS countries, support mutual publications and translations of books, including in the new digital environment, look for options for joint work to develop book industries, promote the Russian language as a language of interethnic and intercultural communication in the Commonwealth. In the field of youth cooperation, it was decided to promote joint initiatives in the field of education, culture, science, entrepreneurship, development of the volunteer movement, as well as to support measures to preserve the memory of the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 among the younger generation.

The forum was attended by figures of science, culture, education of the Commonwealth countries, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of interstate structures, international organizations and public associations.

The work was organized in the format of a plenary session, a general discussion session "Cultural heritage of the Commonwealth countries", discussion platforms "Scientific and educational community of the CIS countries", "The latest cultural code of the CIS: vectors for the development of cooperation", "Literature of the Commonwealth countries - new integration mechanisms", "Cooperation of the youth of the Commonwealth countries".

During the forum, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the interstate award "Stars of the Commonwealth" and the international award "Commonwealth of Debuts", a performance by the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra took place.
