Almost each of the 35 volumes already published in the series "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World Collections" is accompanied by a glossary that includes concepts related to various types of fine and decorative arts. The material prepared within the framework of the project "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the Collections of the World" became the initial source for this dictionary.

Specificity of the dictionary: it mainly contains terms related to the traditional art of Uzbekistan. It was decided to enrich it with new ones not mentioned in the published volumes.
