Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-October of this year, the volume of construction work performed in the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 85 877.5 billion soums, and the growth rate in relation to the corresponding period of 2020 reached 5.1%.
The volume of construction work carried out by large construction organizations in January-October this year amounted to 22 682.8 billion soums. Compared to 2020, in the period under review, the growth rate of construction work reached 102.1%, and their share in the total volume decreased by 0.9% and amounted to 26.4%.
The highest share in the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations was noted in Tashkent city (35.0% of the total volume of construction work in this region, or 170.7% by the corresponding period of 2020), Kashkadarya region (26.0% of the total volume of construction work in this region, or 2.5 times over the same period in 2020) and Navoi region (26.0% of the total volume of construction work in the region, or 114.6% over the same period in 2020 of the year).
The volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms in comparison with other organizations increased in January-October 2021, their share amounted to 54.3% of the total volume, and remained unchanged compared to the same period last year. Thus, the volume of construction work performed by them amounted to 46 607.6 billion soums and, in relation to January-October 2020, the growth rate reached 104.5%.
The largest volume of construction work carried out by small enterprises and microfirms in the period under review was noted in Tashkent city (11 570.2 billion soums, or 55.2% of the total), Samarkand region (3 753.9 billion soums, or 65.3%), Tashkent region (3 725.6 billion soums, or 53.3%) and Fergana region (3 632.8 billion soums, or 66.1%).
The share of construction work in the informal sector amounted to 19.3%, or 16 587.1 billion soums, the growth rate in relation to January-October 2020 reached 111.4%.
Construction work in the country as a whole, carried out by state organizations, reached 4 264.2 billion soums, the volume of construction work carried out by non-governmental organizations amounted to 81 613.3 billion soums, and their share is 5.0% and 95.0%, respectively.
A significant part of the work was carried out in January-October 2021 for the construction of new buildings and structures. Thus, 70.7% of the total volume of construction work, or 60708.8 billion soums, were directed to the creation of new production facilities in the economy, housing and communal services and other social facilities.
Large construction organizations carried out construction work on new construction for 18 818.1 billion soums, or 31.0% of their total volume.
Small enterprises and microfirms carried out construction work on new construction for 27 501.8 billion soums, or 45.3% of their total volume.
In the informal sector, construction work on new construction was carried out for 14 388.9 billion soums, or 23.7% of their total volume.

The share in the total volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations in the total structure of buildings and structures amounted to 24.8% and, compared to January-October 2020, decreased by 1.2 percentage points.
The share of small enterprises and microfirms in this type of activity, compared to January-October 2020, decreased by 1.9 percentage points and amounted to 47.6%.
The share of the informal sector, compared to January-October 2020, increased by 3.1 percentage points and amounted to 27.6%.
The specific weight of the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations for the construction of civilian facilities amounted to 36.6% and decreased, compared to January-October 2020, by 1.7%.
Also, the share of small enterprises and microfirms in the construction of facilities was 63.3% (an increase of 2.0%), and the informal sector - 0.1% (a decrease of 0.3%).
In the total volume of specialized construction work, the share of large construction organizations increased by 0.2 percentage points and amounted to 20.3%, as a result of which the share of small enterprises and microfirms reached 79.7% (a decrease of 0.2 p.p.).
