The Uzbekistan-France Higher Education Forum launched in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19–20 May, the National University of Uzbekistan is hosting the Higher Education Forum titled "Uzbek-French University: Prospects and Development."
The forum is attended by Anne-Marie Descôtes, Secretary General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic; Aurélie Bachelet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan; heads of prestigious French universities including Poitiers, Rennes, Lyon 2, and Le Havre Normandy; Shohruh Daliev, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan; as well as rectors of leading Uzbek universities, scientists, representatives of international organizations, and companies.
The forum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, discuss promising joint projects and educational programs, and establish practical collaboration.
At the plenary session held during the forum, representatives of leading universities from Uzbekistan and France participated. They discussed issues related to improving education quality, training engineering personnel, scientific research, and international cooperation.
Reports were presented by Odil Abdurakhmonov, Head of the Department of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan; Anne-Marie Descôtes, Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Shohruh Daliev, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation; along with other delegation members.
The session included presentations on key principles of the French higher education system, experience in engineering training, activities of research institutes, and opportunities available for Uzbek students.
Participants also learned about ongoing reforms and transformations within Uzbekistan’s higher education system.
The event concluded with a Q&A session and an open dialogue. The forum continued in the format of bilateral meetings.
