Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An Uzbek-Turkish business forum was held in Tashkent on 28 June. The event was moderated by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Faut Oktay, Chairman of the Council for Foreign Economic Relations (DEIC) Nail Olpak and other representatives of the ministry, department and agency.
About 30 Uzbek and more than 60 Turkish businessmen also took part in the Uzbek-Turkish business forum.
The main goal of the event is to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as strengthening cooperation between the two countries in creating additional opportunities for entrepreneurs.
At the beginning of the event, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov noted that the ongoing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey gives a new impetus to the further development of relations between the two countries.
In his speech, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov paid special attention to the fact that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan closely cooperates with the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey (DEIK), the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), the Association of Independent Industrialists and entrepreneurs.
The close cooperation is evidenced by the fact that today in our country there are 1,576 enterprises with Turkish capital, including 694 joint ventures and 882 enterprises with 100% Turkish capital.
Speaking at the event, Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay noted the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey, centuries-old fraternal ties between our peoples and growing cooperation in various fields.
At today’s business forum Uzbekistan - Turkey, attention was paid to strengthening cooperation between the business community of the two countries.
During the business forum, the guests were familiarized with the work done in cooperation with the Turkish side, as well as with presentation materials on the investment potential of Uzbekistan.
From the Uzbek side, the chairman of the branch association "Kaztkimachiliksanoat" I. Khaidarov and the director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry S. Kariev spoke.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Turkish-Uzbek Business Council E. Bulut and General Director for Financial Issues of Dal Teknik Makina D. Koze spoke on the Turkish side.
At the end of the event, representatives of the Uzbek and Turkish private sector who took part in today’s event expressed their desire to contribute to the further development of joint projects in the two countries with the participation of their capital.
