The Uzbek-French University to begin operations on 1 September
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek-French University will be established in Uzbekistan following an agreement signed on 12 March during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to France.
As part of the bilateral Uzbekistan-France higher education forum, the site designated for the new university was visited by Odil Abdurakhmonov, Head of the Department of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan; Anne-Marie Descôtes, Secretary General of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs; and Shokhrukh Daliev, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan.
According to the agreements reached, the university is scheduled to officially commence its activities on 1 September.
Initially, it will be based at the Tashkent State Technical University. The first faculty of the new institution will be the Faculty of Humanities, which will start offering master's programs in French language and French literature.
In the future, the plan includes establishing an engineering faculty specializing in bioinformatics and renewable energy, as well as a faculty of transport focusing on intelligent transport systems and logistics.
